Glaze ‘N Seal’s EZ Stain is simply the EASIEST, most versatile stain you can buy. Get the results you want – ready-to-use for a natural transparent look; dilute with water for a modern, washed look; add coats for deeper opacity; or mix with other EZ Stain colors for a custom look. Easier and less costly to maintain, our semi-transparent, UV-stable formula uses rich pigments and nano-bonding technology to provide exceptional fade resistance and unmatched bonding that won’t peel or flake – outperforming commonly used dye-based stains.
Product Uses: Use INDOOR & OUTDOOR on any new or existing concrete surface or overlay. Ideal for recoloring faded integrally colored or stamped colored concrete. Easy to use on horizontal and vertical surfaces. It can also be used on wood & other porous non-sealed substrates.
Surface Prep: Clean surface completely. Remove oil, grease, gum, wax, foreign materials of any kind, including dust and dirt. Glaze ‘N Seal’s Heavy Duty Cleaner is recommended. For heavier stains like motor oil, use a heavy-duty degreaser. Efflorescence and mineral deposits can be removed with Glaze ‘N Seal’s Efflorescence Remover. New concrete should be at least 28 days old before staining and sealing.
IF SURFACE IS NOT STRUCTURALLY SOLID, IT MUST BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED PRIOR TO STAINING.
Application: EZ Stain is ready-to-use. Always test first on an inconspicuous area to insure you get the desired appearance and color. Only mix with other EZ Stain colors. Use of a pump sprayer is the most common method to apply stain. Cone tips, sprayed in a circular motion, work better than fan tips. Pour through a paint filter to avoid clogs. Airless sprayers or HVLP guns may also be used. Agitate during application. For faux looks dab with a sponge or brush. Surface temperature should be between 50-100 degrees. When hot, apply early in the day. You may mist surface slightly with water to cool surface. Do not apply if rain is expected within 24 hrs.
When repairing areas that are worn, badly stained, porous and/or rust stained, we recommend using EZ Stain Base Coat as a primer over repair before applying EZ Stain for a more uniform result.
SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE & FREQUENTLY DURING APPLICATION.
Clean Up: Wash with soap and water.
Coverage: One gallon ready-to-use will cover approximately 200-400 sq.ft. depending on the condition and porosity of the concrete. If diluted to create light color washes, coverage may increase to 600-700 sq.ft.
Dry Time: When color looks “FLAT”, stain has dried & additional colors can be applied. Allow 1-3 hours additional “CURE” time after final stain coat. For best results, always apply two or more coats of a film forming “pro grade” sealer like Glaze ‘N Seal’s Multi-Purpose Sealer or Wet Look Lacquer. This will protect the stain. Apply only when surface temperature is between 50-90 degrees. Do not apply if rain is expected within the next 24 hours. Turn off garden sprinklers.
